Interfaith Round Table

The Interfaith Round Table, Michigan Roundtable for Diversity & Inclusion's hallmark program, has historic roots in the metropolitan faith community. Trialog programs with Muslims, Christians, and Jews have expanded into service and education programs including a broader sampling of our rich religious diversity, which provide opportunity for the clergy and lay leaders to gain a greater awareness of and respect for each other and our different religious traditions. The Interfaith Round Table's diversity and conflict resolution expertise also serves as a resource for congregations in southeast Michigan.

The Interfaith Scholars' Colloquy is a peer group of professional colleagues active in academics and scholarship who gather monthly in a semi-formal setting to explore and share themes and research of interest to the membership. The hallmarks of these discussions are: originality, candor, mutual criticism, religious focus.

The Colloquy is a self-sustaining enterprise in religious discourse and scholarly exchange; members volunteer current research and commentary for critical discussion; members also invite and seek to engage other colleagues.
The Colloquy provides a unique occasion for genuine religious discourse; it seeks to model intellectual discipline coupled with religious understanding. It seeks to demonstrate authentic interfaith dialog in an atmosphere both critical and respectful. It encourages commitment to a fellowship of constructive discourse and sincere appreciation that transcends arguments of precedence and seeks to be redemptive and meaningful to all faith communities.
While wary of political slant and propaganda, the Scholars recognize the public responsibility of scholarship and welcome the opportunity to speak a word of critical counsel and intellectual integrity to the larger community.
Members of the Colloquy agree to be a resource to the community, as requested, and may from time to time appear in the public forum, as requested. The Colloquy is a constituent part of the Interfaith Programs of the Detroit Chapter, the National Council for Community and Justice.
