Leadership Certification Program

The LINC Student Leader Program gives students the opportunity to become certified student leaders and earn valuable service hours. To become certified, participants earn LINC hours by participating in events and workshops, as well as projects in their schools. The program helps students develop important skills in four major areas.

Leadership and Communication Skills 12.5 hours
This includes training in leadership and communication skills (group facilitation, conflict resolution, team building, event planning, etc.) hands-on experience facilitating dialogue, and planning or leading an event, etc.

Diversity Awareness and Cultural Competence 12.5 hours
This includes experience learning about other cultures, interacting with people of different racial, religious and cultural backgrounds, and learning about issues facing people who are seen as different in our society.

Racism and Oppression 12.5 hours
This includes learning about discrimination and the isms (racism, sexism, etc.), learning about stereotypes and bias and their impact on individuals and society, developing strategies for working toward equality and fighting discrimination.

Service Learning 12.5 hours
This includes hands-on experience working with others on a diversity-related service project in your school, congregation or community.
