NCCJ facilitates Trading Places for WSU Medical School students...

NCCJ staff and consultants spent the day at Wayne State University on August 6 facilitating the Trading Places dialogue sessions with the first-year Medical School students. This program was incorporated into the student orientation criteria four years ago, and is considered a valuable component of the students’ introduction to medical school. Each year, the first-year students learn a little bit about each other’s values and beliefs. It also gives them an opportunity to explore their own assumptions, biases, and prejudice. NCCJ is working with the medical school to expand diversity awareness training to the faculty and administration.
