Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion 2023 Year End Appeal

83 years strong!
“Whatever good comes out of our work, will be a direct result of the good you invest in our work”

Our year end appeal kicked off on the National Day of Giving 2023.  We want to thank you for your financial support which has allowed the Roundtable to fight bias, bigotry, and racism for the past 83 years.

The following messages are coming to you as part of our annual appeal allowing you to learn about how we have grown, going deeper to address the cause of hate and oppression in organizations and communities.

The Roundtable's transformational work with organizations

December 19, 2023

We thank Freda Sampson for leading the Roundtable's work with organizations these past six years.

During the 83 years the Roundtable has been serving Greater Detroit, we have helped communities like Farmington and Farmington Hills, law enforcement like the MI State Police, local governments like Canton Twp., non-profits like Gleaners and corporations like the Ford Motor Company Some 25 years ago the Roundtable assisted Comerica in setting up our DEI program for leadership, management and our staff.

We are preparing to launch an initiative to help organizations understand what drives exclusion and inequity, while providing tools and training to take a racial and social justice approach to addressing this exclusion and inequity.

As this year is coming to an end, please make a donation to the Roundtable to help us continue our work to value difference by working to advance inclusion and equity. “Whatever good comes out of our work, will be a direct result of the good you invest in our work”

Support the Roundtable; Support Our Racial Justice Work

December 12, 2023

Thanks to efforts by Dr. Lisa Jackson, board member of the Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion and long-time leader in police accountability efforts, the Roundtable is honoring its long history of police and community relations to forge trusting relationships by moving beyond the important work of changing individual behavior to addressing the racialized outcomes in the Criminal Legal System.

As this year comes to an end, we join Dr. Jackson in urging you to provide the financial contributions necessary to continue to go deeper to fight racism and other forms of oppression. The Roundtable’s work is needed now more than ever. “Whatever good comes out of our work, will be a direct result of the good you invest in our work.

Dear Friends,

As we bid farewell to another year, we are filled with gratitude for your unwavering support. It is because of compassionate individuals like you that our organization has been able to persist for over eight decades. We initially emerged as an affiliate of the National Conference for Christians and Jews, with a mission to combat bias, bigotry, and racism.

Throughout the years, we have witnessed the positive impact of your support. It has empowered us to increase our efforts in addressing the pressing issues of our time, particularly in the realm of racial and social justice. Together, we have embarked on a noble journey to create a more just and equitable society through cultivating beloved communities in our Michigan.

Our commitment to this cause has not wavered, and we know that with your continued support, we can achieve even greater milestones in the coming year. Your contributions have enabled us to expand our reach, amplify marginalized voices, and advocate for change at both the grassroots and systemic levels.

In a world that often feels divided, your support serves as a beacon of hope. It sends a powerful message that unity and compassion can triumph over prejudice and discrimination. It is through your generosity that we can sustain our initiatives, educate communities, and foster dialogue that bridges divides.

As we embark on this new year, we humbly request your ongoing support. Whether through financial contributions, volunteering your time, or spreading awareness of our mission, every action counts. Together, we can continue to make a profound difference in the lives of individuals affected by bias and injustice.

Thank you for standing alongside us on this journey. Your belief in our cause fuels our determination to create a more harmonious and inclusive world. Let us move forward together, with hope in our hearts and the commitment to building a better future.
